The Ministerial Business and Parliamentary Accountability division (MBPA) is looking to recruit a number of staff as Information Advisers, Correspondence Officers and Freedom of Information (FOI) Officers. MBPA provides a frontline service to MPs and the public. The Customer Service Centre and Freedom of Information (FOI) team within MBPA provide high quality, prompt responses to a wide range of enquiries by letter, telephone calls and emails. For the last three and a half years we have consistently exceeded performance targets, giving us an impressive reputation across Whitehall.

As an FOI Officer, you will work in a small team and be responsible for handling requests from the public for information held by the Department.
This involves working closely with teams across the Department, drafting responses, offering advice and liaising with other government departments on more complex cases. You will be working on areas that will often be in the media. Good judgement and sound decision-making are essential attributes for the role. You will also need to have strong organisational and writing skills.
